# Search

Search reads transcripts, so you can find a message by what was said in it, not just by who
sent it or when.

## Where to search

- **Across everything** — from Home, tap the search icon or pull down. On desktop, press
  **⌘K**.
- **Inside one conversation** — open the conversation, tap its name at the top, then tap the
  search icon.

## Writing a search

- **Several words** — separate them with spaces, like `meeting agenda`.
- **An exact phrase** — put it in quotes, like `"quarterly review sync"`.

## Results and filters

Results are grouped into **Conversations**, **Messages**, **Voice Memos** and **Contacts**.

Narrow them with filters:

- **Conversation type** — DM, Named, Async, or Business.
- **Message type** — voice messages or text messages.
- **Attachments** — with or without.
- **Label**, **From**, and date.
