Create an agent
Creating an agent gives it its own Carbon Voice account: a name, a username, and an identity that can hold access tokens and webhook subscriptions of its own.

Open AI Agents and tap Create New Agent.

Pick your platform. Choose the agent platform you wish to connect Carbon Voice to. Carbon Voice keeps a catalogue of platforms with setup instructions written for each one. Pick the closest match; if yours isn't listed yet, pick anything and connect it by hand afterwards.

Name your agent. It's pre-filled with the platform name, and you can change it any time in settings.

You land on the agent's details screen when you're done.
What you get
Each agent has:
- A name and username. The username is how people @mention it and how it's found in search, the same as a person's.
- A picture, which you can change in settings.
- A voice, used when the agent sends text that someone plays back.
- Its own access tokens and webhook subscriptions, scoped to that agent rather than to your personal account. That separation is the point, because an agent's credentials can be revoked without touching yours.
You don't need a working agent first
Create the account now and connect it to a real agent or workflow whenever you get round to building one. Bear in mind that an unconnected account won't do anything: people can send it messages, but there's nothing behind it to reply until you connect a platform.
