How to record a voice message

Recording in Carbon Voice is designed to be fast and intuitive, whether you're capturing a quick idea or sharing a thoughtful message with your team.

1. Start a recording

• Tap the big purple Record button at the center of the bottom bar.
• Once you tap, the timer starts, and you're now recording.
• This button is available across most of the app, so you can record from almost anywhere.

2. While recording

• Pause by tapping the mic icon, then tap again to resume.
• Restart using the circular arrows icon if it isn't quite right.
• Delete the recording in progress by tapping the red trash can icon.
• Attach a file while recording — an image, a document, or a link.

3. Finish the recording

Tap the big purple check mark in the center to complete your recording.

On the web, make sure your browser allows microphone access. On mobile, check the app's permissions in your phone settings if you get an error reaching your mic. See Microphone access.
