Customize your text-to-speech voice

You told us that customizing your text-to-speech voice matters, so you can now set a preference for the voice used when text is read aloud.

  1. Tap your profile menu — your profile picture in the bottom right.
  2. Select Global Voice.
  3. Under Text-to-Speech, find the dropdown for the preferred TTS engine voice.
  4. Make your choice. It applies whenever text is converted to speech.

This applies when you have the Basic or Premium TTS engine selected and either:

  • you have text that needs to be read aloud, or
  • your messages are translated and voice cloning isn't enabled.

On a paid plan, the same settings let you set up voice cloning, so typed and translated messages you send are heard in your own voice.
